Tropaeolum plants and species are originally from South and Central America. The best known of the species is the common Nasturtium ( Tropaeolum Majus) however a few other species of Tropaeolum are well worth a place in the garden including Tropaeolum speciosum, Tropaeolum tricolorum, Tropaeolum pentaphyllum, Tropaeolum azureum and Tropaeolum brachyceras

Tropaeolum Species

Tropaeolum tricolorum grows from a small tuber and has small red flowers with a violet neck and yellow collar. Flowering in Autumn it makes a great plant in a deep cool pot.

Tropaeolum speciosum or 'Flame flower' is a climbing plant with flame red flowers.

Tropaeolum pentaphyllum is a winter domant climber.

Tropaeolum brachyceras is from Chile and with its bright yellow flowers is a stunning plant.
