White Sapote (casimiroa edulis), Yellow Sapote (pouteria campechiana) or Canistel and the Black Sapote (diospyros digyna) are all excellent fruit trees, although not all really related. The yellow sapote and black sapote are really sub tropical trees, however in the right conditions they have been grown in southern states. Black Sapote is called the chocalate pudding fruit or tree, its fruit really does have a chocalate taste. White sapote has a sweet fruit that goes well with icecream. Yellow sapote is sometimes called 'egg fruit', the fruit having the texture of a boiled egg and tastes a little like a cross between passionfruit and paw paw.
