Rondeletia amoena

A large plant or shrub with pink fragrant flowers in summer and attractive bronze new growth in spring turning a deep green. Will reach 3m. A hardy long flowering shrub that prefers a frost free position, very attractive to birds and butterflies.

Rondeletia amoena are seen as an old fashioned plant, and as such seems to be a little hard to buy in nurseries. We believe they are worth a place in the garden, old fashioned can be good. So try your own cuttings if you can't find this one in your local nursery.

Propagation and Care

Easily propagated from cuttings if you cant buy one, Rondeletia amoena can be pruned back to maintain shape. Use in the garden as a background plant in the border. Full sun to part shade is best although the spring flowering season will be more prolific in sun.
