Iris tectorum or 'Japanese Roof Iris' is a tall growing iris reaching nearly 1m.

Iris tectorum or 'Japanese Roof Iris' flowers in late spring to mid summer depending on climate, and it does not like hot dry conditions. Commonly grown in pots submerged near the edge of garden ponds 'Japanese Roof Iris' also does well in other pots and containers as long as it is kept moist.

Flowers come in both doubles and singles and are large to 10cm and come in a range of colors including white, pink, purple and blue.

Protect from frosts and divide Iris tectorum or 'Japanese Roof Iris' every 4-5 years as pots become crowded.
