Bracteantha bracteata, Plant Profile and growing conditions

Bracteantha, strawflower or everlasting, whatever they are called Bracteantha are popular both in the garden and as a dried flower.

Bracteantha bracteata are found from tropical Queensland right across to coastal Western Australia and are a varied species in terms of both growth habit and required conditions. Bracteantha bracteata are often refered to as 'Golden Everlasting' or 'Strawflowers'.


Bracteantha bracteata have at various times been called either Helichrysum bracteata or Xerochrysum bracteata, they have been extensively hybridised both in Australia and overseas, so a little confusion exists regarding names.
