Alphonse Karr bamboo is cultivar of Bambusa multiplex, also known as 'Yellow Stem or Hedge Bamboo'.

Reasonably frost tolerant, slender (2 - 3cm) and a nice yellow colour. Will grow to 3- 5m depending on conditions, however responds reasonably well to pruning.

Alphonse Karr bamboo is a dense growing bamboo which makes it suitable for hedging or screening.


Alphonse Karr bamboo can be grown in pots .If growing in pots choose larger pots to allow for growth. Lrger pots also provide weight and stability for taller plants.
